I went to this store to get a craftsman line flaring tool replaced and was told they don't warranty any tools that aren't purchased from their location. I was told to take it back to Davenport because thats where I bought it from. They stated that because they are a franchise store they don't have to warranty anything this don't sell. I live in milan and only drove to davenport to buy the tool because this store closes at 7pm and Davenport was open until 10pm and I wanted to have the tool to start work first thing the next morning, unfortunately it broke with my very first use. I called sears main 800 number and of course I got someone that could barely speak english and was no help at all. I went back to the davenport store and had my replacement tool in less than 2 minutes and spoke to a store manager there who told me that anywhere that sells craftsman tools is expected to honor the warranty and that their "franchise store" status should have no bearing on the lifetime guarantee. The saleswoman at moline was rude and totally unapologetic and had absolutely no concern at all as to whether I would ever return to buy anything else from that store again, which I absolutely won't. I'll drive to davenport to buy everything I need from this point forward. I have bought 90% of my tools from sears over the last 25 years because of the warranty an ease of exchange which is now 4 upright rolling toolboxes full of tools...I'll never buy another thing from the fake sears store on the avenue of the cities in Moline and I hope nobody does business with this place again either!
It's a nice store with a very friendly and knowledgeable staff! They always try to save the most money on anything you buy there if it's a pair of tools, a belt for lawnmower all the way up to appliances! Non harassing staff too they let you look around and when you're ready then they will come talk to you and answer your questions! The reason why it's not 5 stars is cuz both of their bathrooms are absolutely a mess and need a nice deep clean! You can tell they may be cleaned every other day or maybe once a week! If they would maintain those it would be 5 stars...
Another STRIKE against Sears!!! I called all day long at different times to see if I could get my Craftsman Air Compressor fix! I drive all over to find them. Went into the store and after waiting because it apparently takes 2 people to help a couple. Finally I got help. I told the guy what happened over at the Davenport Sears and he said Nope we don't fix air compressors here. You have to take it to someone who fixes small engines or lawnmowers. Then he stated I should just throw it away and buy a new one because they aren't worth getting fixed. I told him I'm glad you have over $600 to just throw away and buy a new one. STAY AWAY FROM SEARS!!! Would love to give Negative rating again but I can't!!!
I was after some replacement sockets. The selection is limited, but the lady was very helpful, and we ordered what else I needed, and it will be shipped to me.
